Black and White is the oldest form of photography, created by exposing chemical solutions to regulated light. The world’s oldest surviving photograph is a black and white, which dates back to the mid-1820’s called “View From The Window At Le Gras”.

Photographs in black and white can pack more punch! Sometimes colours can be distract from the emotion or subject, black and white conversions are most often used to emphasize the importance of the moment or natural beauty.

Le fotografie in bianco e nero possono essere di maggiore effetto! Qualche volta i colori possono distrarre l’attenzione dall’emozione o dal soggetto: il bianco e nero enfatizza l’importanza del momento o la sua bellezza naturale.
It can also be used to emphasize contrasting light, patterns or leading lines. Black and white photographs can at times tell a story better than their colour counterparts. In my opinion not every photograph can be converted to a black and white, there has to be just enough contrast to create a rich image that is full of emotion.

Può anche essere usato per enfatizzare le linee di fuga e il contrasto nella luce e nei pattern. Il bianco e nero può a volte raccontare meglio una storia. Secondo me non tutte le fotografie sono adatte al bianco e nero, ci deve essere il giusto contrasto per creare un immagine ricca e piena di emozione.
