There's a NEW Portrait Photography Studio Coming to Turin this fall!

Social Media Coverage

If you've been following our Instagram stories, you're already privy to the behind-the-scenes adventure that's been unfolding.

It’s taking months to get the electricity hooked up. We didn’t know going into this that it would be such a long wait for light in the small studio space.

Apparently if a space has no light for 10+ years your breaker stops working and so you have no way of knowing your POD number. Which you need to get hooked up to the mainline. So, you call a distributor, they give you an email, and you wait 20 days for them to respond with this number. Then you wait a few days while the electric company hooks up your plan, only to find out that they didn’t replace the not working breaker; even if you previously mentioned that’s why you don’t know your POD. So you call the distributor, and they give you a new email to contact and you wait some more… (20 days and counting)

Seeing as it’s 37 degrees outside right now and I have no electricity, no ventilation and therefore no AC. Physical labour is out of the question for me. I decided to do a mini photo reportage in studio of the progress.

After removing the hardware and 50+ holes left by the shelves and stuccoing 4-meter-high walls, I painted over the Fuchsia from the previous owners. Currently on round 3 and 14 litres of white paint. The space is really taking shape and transforming into a modern photography studio. (Did I mention I’m doing this all in the dark!)

With a western facing window, the light that comes in is perfect for those natural light portraits I love so much, with some amazing shadows cast in the evening light.

The studio is a short 2-minute walk away from the Monte Grappa metro stop, with the picturesque Parco della Tesoriera as its neighbour. A beautiful area with many cafés and shops for you to explore on your way in.

Elevating the Photography Scene

Our journey has been marked by many challenges. From navigating bureaucratic mazes to overcoming the unique rhythm of August in Italy – where the city is emptied as everyone heads out on vacation– we’re working hard to bring the dream to life.
